On Campus Marketing NCC of the Year


Purpose: Recognizes outstanding service to NACURH by an individual who has been directly affiliated with the     organization as an NCC. 
Eligibility: Nominees must have been a NCC during the past year.
Pages:  Bids must be no longer than 8 pages (10-12 point type), with a page defined as a side with print (this includes appendices, letters of recommendation, text, etc.); covers and title page is not included in the page count, dividers are included.  All bids shall contain page numbers. All bids must be on white, double-sided, three hole punched paper that is either stapled or otherwise connected in such a way that makes recycling easy.  No plastic binders, book bindings, etc. are allowed.
Selection: Selection will be made during the No Frills Conference.
Award:  This award is endorsed by On Campus Marketing.  The regional winner will receive a plaque during the      regional award ceremony at the NACURH Conference and a $100 check to be applied toward tuition or      induction into the Alumni Association.  The regional winner will also be the SAACURH nominee for the      national award.
Suggested Criteria:
  1. Term of office for award purposes shall be from NACURH to NACURH.
  2. State, regional, and national correspondence.
  3. Recognition through awards:  campus, state, regional, and national levels
  4. Participation in state, regional, and national services.
  5. Participation in conferences: delegation building, spirit, and attendance and participation in meetings and programs.

NRHH Member of the Year Award

Purpose:  This award recognizes outstanding service to SAACURH through NRHH by an individual who has been directly affiliated with the organizations.
Eligibility: Nominees must have been an active member of NRHH, as defined by the NRHH National Constitution, during the year of nomination.  National Board of Director members, NRHH Associate Directors (including SAACURH Executive Council whose regional duties deal directly with NRHH) and NRHH National Office staff are not eligible.  Only one bid per school.  The nominee shall not be a nominee for the Student of the Year award for the same year.
Pages:  Bids will be no longer than eight (8) pages (10-12 point type), with a page defined as a side with print; cover page is not included in the page count, dividers are included.  All bids shall contain page numbers and be double-sided.  The number of copies will be determined by the AD NRHH before each No Frills conference.
Selection: The recipient will be selected by the SAACURH NRHH representatives during the NRHH meeting at the No Frills conference.
Award:  The recipient shall receive a plaque at the NACURH conference following the No Frills conference where the winner was selected.  A maximum of one award will be given per year.
Award Criteria:
  1. Outstanding service considered shall be No Frills to No Frills year specific.
  2. The bid shall include a letter of recommendation from the NRHH President or NRHH Advisor for the year of nomination.
  3. The bid shall include NRHH accomplishments and NRHH involvement for the year of nomination.
Suggested Criteria, but not required:
  1. State, regional, and national correspondence pertaining to NRHH.
  2. Recognition through NRHH Awards.
  3. Participation in campus, state, regional, and national services for the benefit of NRHH.
  4. Representation of NRHH at campus, state, regional, and national levels.

Advisor of the Year Award 

Purpose: Recognizes outstanding service by an individual advisor above and beyond their job description while serving in an advising capacity to a residence hall leadership group
Eligibility:
All advisors with the exception of the NACURH Advisor and CRC are eligible.
Pages:  Bids will be no longer than 8 pages (10-12 point type), with a page defined as a side with print (this includes appendices, letters of recommendation, text, etc.); covers and title page is not included in the page count, dividers are included.  All bids shall have page numbers. All bids must be on white, double-sided, three hole punched paper that is either stapled or otherwise connected in such a way that makes recycling easy.  No plastic binders, book bindings, etc. are allowed.
Selection:
Selection will be made during the No Frills Conference.
Award:  The regional winner will receive a plaque during the regional award ceremony at the NACURH Conference.
Suggested Criteria:

  1. Campus, state, regional and national involvement (i.e. Regional Board, conference staff, etc.)
  2. Recognition received through awards: campus, state, regional and national.
  3. Participation in campus, state, regional and national services.
  4. Participation in conferences: attendance, presenting programs, etc.
  5. The nominee should be evaluated on their accomplishments during the one (1) year period stretching between NACURH and NACURH.

SAACURH Conference Delegate Grant

  • Member institutions shall have the opportunity to apply for Delegate Grants to help defer registration costs for the Regional Conference. 
  • The Regional Director will coordinate the Delegate Grant program; SEC members will determine to whom grants are awarded.  Their determination will be based on each applicant's history of SAACURH involvement & demonstrated financial need.
  • The application shall be in written format, adhering to guidelines set forth by the SEC.
  • The number of Grants given out each year will be up to the discretion of the SEC.
  • The amount of each Grant will be up to discretion of the SEC, based on interested earned from the SAACURH Savings account during the previous fiscal year.  This amount will not exceed $100 per grant.
  • The monies will be paid directly to the Regional Conference host
  • Any institution awarded a grant and does not send at least one delegate per grant to the regional conference will be required to pay the region back for the full amount of their award.

SAACURH NRHH Chapter Affiliation Grant (NA99)

  • NRHH Chapters at member institutions shall have the opportunity to apply for Affiliation Grants to help defer the cost of affiliation with the NRHH National Office.
  • The Regional Associate Director for NRHH will coordinate the Affiliation Grant program; SEC members will determine which chapters are to be awarded the grants.  Their determinations will be based on each chapter's history and involvement within SAACURH and demonstration of financial need.  New chapters and first year chapters are eligible.
  • The number of grants given out each year will be limited to no more than four (4).
  • The amount of each grant will be the current affiliation fees set by the NRHH National Office.
  • After receiving and Affiliation Grant, a chapter becomes ineligible for consideration for the next three years.  For example, if a chapter receives a Grant for the 1999-2000-affiliation period, the chapter may not apply again until the 2003-2004-affiliation period.

SCHOOL AWARDS

SAACURH School of the Year Award

Purpose:
The SAACURH School of the Year (SOY) award is the highest honor a member school can attain.  The award recognizes outstanding achievements on the campus level by a residence hall government and associated groups as well as contributions on the state, regional, and national levels. 
Eligibility: Only year-specific information will be considered; in other words, bid content should reflect       accomplishments from NACURH Conference to NACURH Conference.  Bids not following this criteria will      not be considered.
Pages:  The text of the SOY bid should be limited to 30 pages (10-12 point type required) and should seek its own level of clarity and content.  A page is defined as a side with print; covers and title page is not included in page count, dividers are included.  All bids shall contain page numbers.  Appendices are limited to twenty pages and may be added at the host school's discretion however, only the first thirty (30) pages will be used in determining the award winner.  All bids must be on white, double-sided, three hole punched paper that is either stapled or otherwise connected in such a way that makes recycling easy.  No plastic binders, book bindings, etc. are allowed.
